Darren Person currently serves as Cengage Group’s EVP & Chief Digital Office where he leads CG’s Product, Technology & Innovation organization. Focusing on developing a standardized approach to product technology across the company’s 3 business units, Darren is helping to foster innovative, immersive and personalized learning experiences. He is also responsible for furthering the company’s innovation efforts in GenAI, virtual & augmented reality; exploring how these capabilities can best be leveraged across our businesses to meet the evolving needs of customers.

Darren has held several leadership roles across industry sectors. As the Global CIO at NPD, a global data analytics company, he played a crucial role in partnering with the leadership team to facilitate the company's sale to Hellman & Friedman. Subsequently, he was instrumental in the acquisition of IRI Worldwide, which ultimately led to the formation of Circana. He was also responsible for developing NPD’s next-generation platform, enhancing client services through innovative machine learning, AI, data & analytics solutions.

Prior to NPD, Darren spent a decade at Elsevier, a RELX Group company, as SVP/CTO of Digital Product Management & Platform Services, where he was instrumental in driving their digital transformation. Earlier in his career, he was CTO for CBS Television Stations, and held senior positions at Lifetime, Adecco & USA Networks.

Darren holds an MBA from Columbia University. He is based out of New York.
